I just watched CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT last night. It was finally released on dvd in the UK with a watchable but not extraordinary print. But the sheer power of Welles' Falstaff is magnificent and the Battle of Shrewsbury sequence is cinematic genius, especially knowing his limited budget. I'll post my review soon over on the Korova. Needless to say, it grades as a masterpiece!

What a spectacular film. And to think, we have never seen it at its full restored power. Imagine that!
