So that's the list.  It may change somewhat in about an hour or so, and then again and hour or so after that, ad infinitum, but for now, this is the list.  Now I've got to start work on my next best of the decade list.

Films that just missed the top 50 were Sideways, Collateral, Femme Fatale, Fast Runner, Miami Vice, Grindhouse (yea, really!), Gabrielle, 28 Days Later, The Wrestler & Dawn of the Dead.

Hmm, there's no place in your heart for "Lost in Translation"? (...considering that you have on your list "Marie Antoinette").

Actually Lost in Translation was a close runner-up and I almost put it on in place of City of God. Like most lists, the choices are arbitrary and could easily chance at the slightest whim.
